On Trend for 2016 – Pantone Colours (PLURAL!)

With 2015 coming to an end, as customary, Pantone has announced the colour of the new year – but this time around they’ve chosen two colours! Vastly different from last year’s deep marsala resembling and earthy red wine, a combination of warm rose quartz and cool serenity make up the soon-to-be trending hues in décor and fashion for 2016.

This is the first time that Pantone has released the blending of two shades as the colour of the year. As both very distinct hues, together they create a fine balance intended to reflect, “connection and wellness as a soothing sense of order and peace,” and they just so happen to compliment each other perfectly!

The combination of rose quartz and serenity is intended to welcome, calm, and emphasize tranquility in an effort to dissolve the modern stresses of today’s society. Consider combining these cool and warm tones in your closet and home décor to be on trend for 2016! Add a tasteful dash of colour to any room in the form of furniture, fixtures and textiles to embrace the new year and new colour – not to mention, these hues would add an elegant touch to any wardrobe!
